Porsche 911 Turbo, X50, Manual, Sports Seats.Very few 996 Turbos were sold with manual gearboxes, and even fewer had the factory-fitted X50 power pack (confirmed by Official Porsche Certificate of Production included in the extensive history file). X50 power pack, includes bigger turbos, modified intercoolers and a revised ECU. The ‘standard’ 996 Turbo has a 3.6 litre engine, with twin turbochargers, and is water cooled, which brings the power up to 420 BHP. The X50 power package option increased the BHP to a staggering 450 , which prompted BBC TV?s Jeremy Clarkson to comment at the time, ?It hurts me to say this, but of all the cars you can buy today, this is the best.? 0 to 60 mph was cut to 3.6 seconds with the addition of the X50 package. I bought this example last year after selling my 1949 Land Rover. I looked at many 996 911?s and decided to rule out the normally aspirated versions when I read of their potential engine weaknesses ( the Turbo has the legendary Mezger designed engine descended from the GT1). Most Turbos you will see sub £30k will be Triptronic cars with ruffled leather, still a lovely car but not really comparable to the spec you are viewing here. I know the mileage will put a lot of people off but this car has been maintained fastidiously and there is a fully stamped service book backed up by a huge folder of receipts (mostly main dealer with some specialists in recent years. Some of the major items from the service file; April 2008, 64772 miles, engine rebuild at OPC, Cliffords of Weybridge (£7806.01) February 2013, @11400 miles , Water pump and hoses. March 2018, 125296 miles, Front suspension, including lower arms. This was in addition to servicing at the following intervals, 11-04-2003, 9210 miles, minor service OPC Edinburgh. 24-03-2004, 16240 miles, major service OPC Edinburgh. 01-10-2004, 27258 miles, minor service OPC Edinburgh. 22-05-2005, 38866 miles, major service OPC Edinburgh. 08-06-2006, 50134 miles, minor service OPC Edinburgh. 01-08-2007, 55218 miles, major service OPC Guilford. 08-07-2008, 68262 miles, minor service OPC Guilford. 23-07-2009, 82627 miles, major service OPC Reading. 07-12-2010, 97036 miles, minor service OPC Reading. 17-05-2012, 108134 miles, major service OPC Reading. 25-06-2013, 114632 miles, major service Portiacraft (Porsche specialist) 30-07-2014, 118601 miles, minor service Portiacraft (Porsche specialist) 08-04-2016, 120295 miles, minor service Specialist Cars of Malton (Porsche specialist) 23-03-2018, 126296 miles, minor service Portiacraft (Porsche specialist) Mileage is currently @128000 miles, so due a full service in March this year I guess, this has been taken into account with regards to pricing the car. There is also a small blow around the right hand side manifold that clears when the car is warm but the studs will eventually need replacing, again I?ve taken this into account. Cosmetically the car is very presentable but the headlamps could do with a polish and the calipers painting for it to be really tidy. In summary a genuine X50 manual 911 turbo that was in main dealer care up to 108134 miles. Perfect ?drivers? spec car. Porsche Club GB valuation for insurance £42,500. Currently on personal plate T80 —, could be left on the car or I will remove at my expense if not required. Any questions please get in touch. *I’m re-listing this, had loads of interest but no viewers last time. It will be serviced and MOT’d at the end of the month and I may well pass it to a dealer on sale or return then. Obviously there will be movement in the price if you take it before I spend money on it.Just to clarify the potential PX, I’m only really interested in a tax exempt classic that can fit in my small garage or a VW Camper either split or bay window. Straight sale much preferred!
