The ‘standard’ 996 Turbo has a 3.6 litre engine, with twin turbochargers, and is water cooled, which brings the power up to 420 BHP. The X50 power package option increased the BHP to a staggering 450 , which prompted BBC TV?s Jeremy Clarkson to comment at the time, ?It hurts me to say this, but of all the cars you can buy today, this is the best.? 0 to 60 mph was cut to 3.6 seconds with the addition of the X50 package. I bought this example last year after selling my 1949 Land Rover. I looked at many 996 911?s and decided to rule out the normally aspirated versions when I read of their potential engine weaknesses ( the Turbo has the legendary Mezger designed engine descended from the GT1). Most Turbos you will see sub £30k will be Triptronic cars with ruffled leather, still a lovely car but not really comparable to the spec you are viewing here. I know the mileage will put a lot of people off but this car has been maintained fastidiously and there is a fully stamped service book backed up by a huge folder of receipts (mostly main dealer with some specialists in recent years. Cosmetically the car is very presentable but the headlamps could do with a polish and the calipers painting for it to be really tidy. In summary a genuine X50 manual 911 turbo that was in main dealer care up to 108134 miles. Perfect ?drivers? spec car. Porsche Club GB valuation for insurance £42,500. Currently on personal plate T80 —, could be left on the car or I will remove at my expense if not required.
