Stunning Zanzibar Red Gen 1 Porsche 996 / 911 GT3 First things first, if you’re not in to modified Porsches, it’s probably best you hit the back button and carry on looking elsewhere. When my company built this car 2 years ago, it did divide opinions within the Porsche community. It was done to my own spec and not to please any one else. I’ve been around Porsches for over 20 years and appreciate everything from stock/factory finish, race prepared, Singer recreations right through to Nakai San’s RWB cars from Japan which was my initial inspiration to do something with my GT3.So, the car started it’s life as 1 of 9 UK RHD cars finished in Zanzibar red. Back in 2005, the car had an altercation with the armco on a race track and due to the cost of the replacement panels and bumpers, the insurance gave it a Cat C status. The car was then fully rebuilt by a company just outside London and they used this car to showcase their work. That was 10 years ago now. I purchased the car 3 years ago after part exchanging it with my concours Carrera 2 with a bit extra on top obviously…in that time I have covered approx 3,000 miles in the car.I have attended a number of shows in the GT3 (Ultimate Dubs, Ultimate Stance, Breakfast Club, Cars and Coffee etc) and was also invited to the very prestigious 50th Essen Motor Show last November. Sadly I was unable to attend that one but was one of less than half a dozen cars which were given an invite to be on display in the main halls. The car is a Clubsport spec car fitted with Carbon Fibre / alcantara GT3 race seats, Scroth race harnesses, GT3 Momo Clubsport steering wheel. The wheels are genuine BBS LM’s which we have split down, had the barrels fully polished and the centres powder coated in matt black and then fully rebuilt using all new bolts. Then fitted with Michelin Pilot Sports all round. The original factory suspension was tired and largely unforgiving for a regular use car so I looked at options for a replacement suspension set up.Yes, I could have gone down the tried and trusted route of fitting a set of Bilsteins or KW’s but I also need to be able to get over speed humps and down my drive! So, after much research, we decided to fit Air Dynamiks struts , Accu-air e level management, Air Zenith compressor, titanium drop links, Race Cats and a colour coded 5 gallon air tank which has been fitted inside the rear of the car.All the compressor and management etc have been fitted under a false floor in the front footwell of the car.No expense has been spared on the build. The quality of the ride on the Air Dynamiks suspension is superb and far more forgiving than the coil overs that were taken off it.Please note, only 2 holes were drilled in to the bulkhead when installing the air tanks etc. The air set up could be easily removed within a day and put back on to standard factory or coil overs if so desired.I run/own a garage and we specialise in fitting air ride as well as working on VW vans! The front end was looking a bit tired from stone chips (it is a GT3 which has been tracked and not just bought as an investment!)I had the front end completely repainted and they also smoothed out the front bumper to give it a stunning clean finish at the front. The front end was then wrapped in 3m self healing clear protection film to help prevent anymore stone chips! On it’s last Dyno run approx 4 years ago, it was running approx 375bhp.In the 3,000 miles I’ve done in it, I have serviced it twice..Comes with log book, 2 keys, hand book, and a red folder full of old receipts and associated paperwork.MOT is currently out and the car is in secure storage but I will put 12 months MOT on it upon sale. Please note, the number plate on the car will not be staying and will revert back to an age related plate.Only selling as it’s another toy not being used and taking up valuable storage space at work so having a bit of a thinning out session! As for the price, well that’s subjective. I am open the sensible offers so please get in touch if you are genuinely interested. I have enabled the best offer optionWould consider another Porsche (air cooled preferred!) in part ex The vehicle is located at my work on Atcham Business Park. I’ve only used it once this year to go to Ultimate Dubs at Telford International Centre where it was on display just in front of the main stage. Payment is by Bank transfer only. Please note, whilst I am in the motor trade, this is a private sale of my own vehicle and no warranty is expressed or implied and is free from any known encumbrance.
